WIC
The Alaska WIC program aims to assist low-income and nutritionally at-risk women who are pregnant, women who are currently breastfeeding (up to the infant’s first birthday), non-breastfeeding postpartum women (up to six months after the birth of an infant or after pregnancy ends), infants, and children up to their fifth birthday. Benefits include supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, counseling at WIC clinics, and screening and referrals for health concerns, welfare, and social services.
Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Awareness and Action Month
April is Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Awareness and Action Month. This April, visit the Alaska Cares display located at the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center — a visual representation of every child served for child abuse and sexual assault in the last year.
Southcentral Foundation’s Family Wellness Warriors focuses on healing and action to end cycles of child abuse and sexual assault. We heal for those to come. For resources on ways to heal in community, visit FWW’s page for learning circle opportunities.
Indian Creek Health Clinic
In partnership with the Native Community of Tyonek, Southcentral Foundation manages health care services at the Indian Creek Health Clinic. The clinic team provides high-quality services for everyone in the community, at any stage of life, and collaborates with you to ensure you receive the tools, support, and resources you need for informed health and wellness-related decisions.
